Dr Sharma qualified as a dentist at Guys Dental Hospital in 1999 obtaining his bachelors of Dental Surgery Degree with Distinction and his post graduate dental fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons from Edinburgh in 2001.
He went on to complete a three year full time specialist orthodontic training programme at the Royal London Hospital. During this period he obtained a Masters of science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London achieving a distinction for this research thesis and subsequently went to complete his Membership in Orthodontics from the royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
Dr Sharma has been practicing orthodontics exclusively since 2002 working part-time at our practice and rest of the time as a hospital consultant/Senior Lecturer in Orthodontics at the Royal London Hospital Dental Institute/Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is heavily involved in teaching undergraduate students and post graduates in Orthodontics, including those trying to become hospital consultants. As a consultant he is also involved in treating patients with complex malocclusions including those requiring Jaw surgery.
Dr Sharma has published numerous articles in peer- reviewed journals and presented his research at national and international orthodontic conferences and meetings. He has been invited to give a number of lectures at national orthodontic meetings. He is on the Specialist Register(orthodontics) of the general Dental Council and is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies.
As an orthodontic specialist Dr Sharma accepts referrals for all the ranges of orthodontic problems suffering adults and children and wherever possible provided treatment utilizing orthodontic appliances including :cosmetic "tooth coloured" braces, self - ligating braces, lingual braces(braces placed on the inside of the teeth) and invisalign ( clear aligners)
